A Simple Weekly Family Devotion Plan
A realistic 10-minute rhythm for busy families: five short days and a restful weekend.
“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”Deuteronomy 6:6-7
How does the week work?
| Day | 10-minute plan |
|---|---|
| Sunday | Worship together. On the way home, ask: What did you hear about Jesus today? |
| Monday | Read one Bible story (a storybook Bible works for young kids). Ask one question. Pray. |
| Tuesday | Memory verse: say this week's verse together three times. Sing one hymn or song. |
| Wednesday | Read the story again or the next one. Each person names one thing to thank God for. |
| Thursday | Pray for others: grandparents, friends, the sick, your pastor. |
| Friday | Family fun night. Retell the week's story using toys or drawings. |
| Saturday | Rest. Prepare for worship: lay out clothes, pray for church tomorrow. |
What if we miss a day?
Just start again. Faithfulness, not perfection, is the goal, and God's grace covers our failures (Lamentations 3:22-23).
